I need to shoot a live concert on May 21st running from 10:00-11:00 P.M. I'll need ideally 5 to 6 3-CCD native widescreen cameras to do this and unfortunately don't have the equipment to do so. I plan on only 2 of the cameras being manned while the rest would be set in fixed locations. There will be A LITTLE money in it for whoever wants to rent their gear to me and a little more for anybody who is available to man the camera. I very much prefer DVX100s and XL2s over other models. I will accept other models if need be though. I'd like to shoot at 30p but I can do 60i if need be. If you are interested, please let me know.

    Thank you.

    Stephen,

What are you doing for the live sound recording?

Thanks for asking. I'll be bringing a bunch of microphones, mixer and preamp along with one of my computers which can record up to 16 tracks simultaneously.
  1.
Oh yes. Before I forget (again), I've got a DVX that should be available.
  2.
Hey Stephen, you asked if I'm available on the 21st in the other thread, so I'm assuming this is what you where talking about. I could help out as an op of another camera, but I don't think you'd want my 7D as a camera (it's my only camera now) -- it doesn't work for long form event video (only records up to 12 minutes -- or 4GB -- at a time) -- unless you're just wanting clips from various angles. I can shoot 30p in 1080 HD, or 60p in 720p. Let me know what you're looking for...
  3.
Which concert are you shooting, Stephen?

    To Chad:
The Fallen Soldiers of Idaho Memorial Concert is what I'm hired to shoot.

To Brandon, I'm somewhat grasping at straws at this point. I'd want to shoot widescreen, 480p30. Would that get you more record time? If it really comes down to it, and you're willing of course, you could restart the camera as soon as possible when you reach the record limit. I'd be able to fill in the blank spots from other camera angles, though it would be more work because I'd have to resync every few minutes. It's something I'd rather avoid but if I wind up not getting all the cameras I need, I'm in a bigger bind.

To Alex, thank you VERY much! I'll provide media. Will you be in attendance as well or just renting out your camera? What kind of tapes do you use in your camera?
  4.
The 7D only shoots 640x480 60p in standard definition mode. It will give a longer record time, though, but you'll have to crop down to get the widescreen look. Or I could shoot HD and you'd just need to downrez -- either way, you'd need to transcode. I'd be more prone to operate another camera, though. Let me know how I can help, I'll try to keep that Friday open.
  5.
TDK for the tapes. And plan on me being in attendance (though I may need a ride).
  6.
Man... --- I got a gig that day too. -- I hope I can get the crew & equipment together for it, while there are a few sources.
    Thanx Stephen. :)

OK, that's one camera for sure,
Alex, can you E-mail me with your information:
soundman (at) gcm studio (dot) com (take out the spaces and interperet my symbols). Sorry, have to avoid those spam bots.

    Thanks.
Chad, good luck to you also.
BTW, can you tell me about your show?
  7.
I'm very sorry, Stephen. -- I didn't see this, till right now.
I was keeping my eyes out for new postings, yet it escaped me to check recent dates and times and postings that were and are up.
Sorry, again. -- And I know how to spot that particular, now.

It's this year's "Eagle Island Experience." --Three or four day Festival, with all kinds of things going on during it. - Healing Arts, Dance, Music, Food, Art, Classes, Community Programs of all kinds...

Jim the owner of "Gruntwerks" { gruntwerks (dot) net } asked me to celebrate the 10 year Anniversary with them, by doing another doc on their Festival. -- They really liked the first year's and -- (grunt)... it was kind of tough, especially during the editing process. - Yet, I've got all the cliff notes on what to do this time around and they'll hopefully be of benefit.

Anyway... --- ... --- ... Thanks Stephen, and I hope the best for all of us.
    -Chad
