Dipshit Williams, never one to back off of anything sensationalist, is referring to Vincent Sanchez. Vincent has been indicted (not found guilty) on charges that are 8.5 years old and - to my mind - somewhat suspect. If Vincent is guilty, so be it, but I'll be the first to say that he behaved professionally around any and all minors on the set of "Vagabond Lane". In related news, KTVB ran a terrible piece on Thursday, filled with the type of yellow journalism tripe that come people come to associate with "news". As far as I'm concerned, KTVB should be sued by Vincent for slander/libel/whatever it is when the press go out of their way to fuck someone.
As I have said before, if you have a penis and an allegation like this occurs, you are guilty until proven innocent. That is an unfortunate fact. These f***wad journalists have ruined this guy whether he is guilty or not. Society has made it very scary for any man to be alone with any child. It is easier for them to condemn a guy like this, why take the chance that he is innocent? He will be sacrificed for "the greater good" whether he is guilty or not, they won't want to take a chance on it.... it is easier to be wrong in a right like way, in their eyes, if we are wrong and he is innocent it is better than wrong and he is guilty.
It's weird because I have been developing a feature screenplay along these same lines for about a year and a half now. Don't kid yourself, this could happen to any innocent man.
"I aint one to gossip, but good gawd, who's guilty of having him near kids."
Did you forget that you wrote that as well, D.W.? 'cuz it's, like, right THERE at the top of the thread...
=)
Years ago Joe Eszterhas (Basic Instinct, Sliver, Showgirls) wrote a screenplay where - right off the top - a presidential candidate from the south was caught with his pants down (literally). The catch was that the smoking gun was a photograph from the candidate's youth, and his pants were down near the hooves of a barnyard critter. (ew!) Eszterhas has gone on to write that the script was universally loved in Hollywood, but not a single producer would touch the subject matter. Why? 'cuz the odds of society getting past the barnyard lovin' angle (double-ew!) and into the deeper story were just way too low.
How does this relate to the thread? Dunno. I think it's because Eszterhas' script deals with the theme of MAN HITTING ROCK BOTTOM - and nothing sez "rock bottom" like a picture circulating of someone boning a sheep/cow/llama.
Heh. "Llama." That's funny. (sorry)
Anyway, the douchebag local newstation's so-called "journalists" have a vested interest in destroying people's lives - it makes for "good news" (re: sensationalism = ratings). The difference is that Eszterhas was writing fiction (?!); what KTVB is doing is real, and people should complain - very publicly - to them and other media outlets.
